The “letter approving the visa ” is a letter issued by the Department of Immigration Vietnam, which allows entry and exit from Vietnam for a limited period. With the consent of the letter, you can collect your visa after arriving at one of three international airports in Vietnam (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang).
At the airport, the appropriate authority will check the details of the letter of approval on the basis of passport and travel documents. As long as you make sure that you provide correct data when submitting the application, you will definitely receive an entry when you arrive in Vietnam with an approval letter. However, we recommend that you read our pages carefully and follow all instructions carefully to avoid problems or delays at the airport.

The admissible applications are decided within 15 calendar days after being received by the embassy. This period may be extended to a maximum of 30 calendar days in individual cases or up to a maximum of 60 calendar days where additional documentation is required in specific cases.
This applies to visa applications that can be considered and taken up by the Embassy of Denmark, Hanoi, as well as cases in which the application must be directed and processed by the Danish Immigration Service (DIS)
Citizens of Vietnam are subject to prior consultation prior to obtaining a visa. The consultation may last up to 8 days, and the visa may under no circumstances be issued prior to the completion of consultations.
Normally, the approval letter is processed and emailed you within three (3) to five (05) business days (excluding Saturday, Sunday and National Holidays). In urgent cases, you will receive the approval letter within the time frame below.
* Same Day Processing (Working day): If you submit your application and pay the fee before 12.00 PM Vietnam time on a Working day (Monday-Friday), we will send you the letter of approval by 18:00 PM on the same working day.
* Next Day Processing (Working day): If you submit your application and pay the fee before 12.00 PM Vietnam time on a Working day (Monday-Friday), we will send you the letter of approval by 18:00 PM on the following (next) working day.
Notes: The above processing time does not apply for Friday afternoon (after 12.00 PM) + Saturday and Sunday. Please consider the time difference between Vietnam and your country.
Note: the visa counter at Vietnam airport is 24/7 open so if you already have the approval letter, you can still pick up your visa at Vietnam airport on weekend
Yes, visa on arrival is NOT VALID for OVERLAND ENTRY. The three international airports in Vietnam that you can receive your visa stamp with this approval letter are: Noi Bai International Airport(Hanoi), Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Ho Chi Minh City), Cam Ranh International Airport (Nha Trang) and Danang Airport (Da Nang).
